ELPS Superintendent’s Report
June 9, 2025
Congratulations Class of 2025!
The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2025 was held last Thursday evening at the Breslin Center. East Lansing High School recognized 308 graduates! Congratulations to the graduates and their families and friends!
Summer Construction Work at ELHS
The construction work at East Lansing High School will begin this week! This construction is a result of the community approval of the 2024 Safety, Security and Accessibility bond proposal. The high school will be getting a new secure entrance and new front-facing main office spaces.
Additional cafeteria space will also be added, along with an interior ramp, a “learning stairs” space and additional flex space for our students. This work is scheduled to begin on June 9, 2025, and continue throughout the 2025–2026 school year.
As part of this project, access to our current main entrance (Door 1) will be affected. During construction, the new temporary main entrance will be Door 8 (also known as the night activities entrance). We kindly ask all students and families to use Door 8 to enter the building for the duration of the construction period. Please be sure to follow all posted construction signage and directions for your safety and convenience.
Summer Office Hours for Central Administration
Central Administration is open all summer! Office hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The office will be closed June 19 in recognition of Juneteenth.
For appointments or access to individuals in the Central Administration Office, we ask that you make an appointment, and the individual will be able to meet you at the entrance or notify the door safety monitor of your arrival. Thank you!
