Enrolling Your Child at East Lansing Public Schools


If you are a resident of the East Lansing School District you may enroll your children (please refer to the boundary map on our website). Children must be living with a parent or legal guardian.

To enroll your child in school you may visit www.elps.us/elfamily to complete the online enrollment. For students in kindergarten through 5th grade, please see the boundary map to determine your neighborhood school. The following items will need to be provided:

  • Proof of Residency (two forms are required) - a drivers license or voter registration card (counts as one), lease agreement, moving bill, purchase agreement, utility bill, insurance bill or some other official mail addressed to your address in our district.
  • Proof of Birth  - the child’s original certified birth certificate (the one issued by the county) must be presented to the registrar at the school
  • Proof of Immunizations
  • 504 Plan - if applicable
  • Current IEP - if applicaple
  • High School students should also bring a copy of their transcript when enrolling.
