School Health Clinic Back On!
While the partnership with the Ingham County Health Department to open a school-based health clinic did not come to fruition, we are fortunate to have UM-Sparrow step up to be our new partners in this endeavor! We are in initial stages of planning and are very tentatively planning to open in late July of 2025. Eaton RESA, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and UM-Sparrow have all partnered with us to ensure that this clinic will be available for our students and for community members ages 5 – 21.
The Health Clinic Advisory Committee will meet Wednesday, November 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the ELHS Hub (enter through Door #1), and the meeting is open to all!
Professional Learning Days for Staff
Our first of five professional learning Fridays was held October 11. The format of these days is a conference-style morning where all district staff select a session of their choice (or a second or third choice) to attend with a built-in wellness break. On occasion, specific groups may be assigned to a session, but we do our best to limit those required sessions to 1 – 2 out of the five.
On October 11, we offered 19 different sessions that align with our mission statement and goal buckets of work:
