1. Facilities Updates (Billy)

• Summer actions and recap
  • Summer maintenance and cleaning
  • Hot water tank at high school and are going to do this week of Thanksgiving or Christmas (because they have to be without hot water) In the meantime, they purchased everything that will be affected by tariffs onsite and stored. Has already went up 27%. Saved about $30K.
  • Shot put area is complete and will allow for 20 throwers compared to two places previously. Now have top notch field event area to match the track!
  • Memorial trees were moved this summer to the shot put area this summer and also provide shade for spectators watching.
  • Working on specs for MMS roof to put out for bid.
  • A couple years ago they replaced boiler tubes at HS (Boiler 1). Boiler2 is needing replacement and working on bids now. These replacements are about 20 year fixes.
  • Filter First program – they installed 11 new bottle fillers at HS and 8 at the middle school. Elementary schools met standards already.
  • In line filters on ice machine for athletics and in kitchen.
  • Applying for 2nd round of Filter First grant they will apply for as well.
  • Showers at high school updated with rebuild kits so are all working now.
  • ELHS auditorium rigging system was tested and tested well. Might need to replace a curtain.
  • Entrance at high school on time should be completed by Fall 2026.
  • Admin building - on schedule
  • Health clinic - opening September 29

2. Athletic/Event Updates (Nikki)

• MMS sports and city vs. school hosting (update)
  • Transitioning Melvin White into his role
  • Nikki’s office scheduling officials, transportation this year- but will transition to Melvin next year
• Fall track and tennis court hours
  • Track is 7 am – 1 pm M-F Fall
  • Tennis courts are open and Billy is starting on a maintenance program for the courts.
  • They have not really been locking them on night and weekends
• Summer actions and recap
  • Researching vans for smaller sports/activities so we don’t have to rent a van each timed. 
• Fall sports-Two other high schools coming to EL courts to play (because they are so nice)
  • going to patch a couple spots on track
  • continuing to invest in all of our spaces, yearly check-ins and investments where needed
