East Lansing High School Theatre Department

Our Program

The high school theatre program is a welcoming community where every student belongs. We celebrate diversity in all its forms and actively strive to maintain a safe creative space for authentic expression. Through rehearsals, technical work, and performances, we empower students not only to learn the craft of theatre but also to develop empathy, build confidence, and grow as artists and human beings.

We are happy to announce that our fall play will be...

Our Facilities

All performances take place at the beautiful ELHS Center for the Performing Arts. This facility seats 742 with great views from both the orchestra and balcony levels and features a 56' wide proscenium stage. We are also fortunate to have a scene shop, costume and prop storage, dressing rooms, and a technical control booth for use in the production of our shows.

A side view of a modern auditorium with tiered, fixed seating facing a proscenium stage with black curtains and a wooden floor. Overhead theatrical lighting is visible, and a curved balcony with additional seating is visible in the rear.
