MacDonald Middle School is a sixth, seventh and eighth grade building, with a diverse cultural and economic student population of 759 students in the East Lansing School District.

High academic expectations and behavior expectations allow for a learning environment that is both challenging and engaging to the students and staff. A wide range of academic and social opportunities is provided for students. MacDonald Middle School offers quality curriculum opportunities to all students. Curriculum is aligned to the State of Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations and we are currently adopting the Common Core State Standards. Teachers have syllabi available for parents and students with course content and academic expectations explained in detail. Opportunities exist for students to earn high school credit in mathematics, science and foreign languages. MacDonald Middle School is currently involved in an initiative to ensure alignment across the curriculum and align teaching strategies to research based studies.
